I use Windows 10, Firefox and Outlook.com.
Since yesterday I get a (not so) small ad reading "Try Outlook.com in Microsoft Edge. A faster, more secure browser designed for Windows 10." each time I sign in.
Is there a way to get ride of this? I get "No results found" for "try outlook.com in microsoft edge" in Google. Am I the only one with this issue?
There are different versions of OWA floating around but the current version, Outlook Web App (formerly Outlook Web Access) has icons at the top to switch views.
I cannot remember how it was done in earlier versions.
The problem with the threads provided in the question is that they are outdated. Gmail currently does not allow you to access your other gmail account through SMTP. See https://support.google.com/mail/answer/22370?hl=en
What you can do though, is to get any other email account being not provided by gmail, but having an SMTP access. Then add it via SMTP, which basically makes your gmail inbox a web-based client for those accounts, so the email address of that inbox will not appear anywhere in the message.

Windows Settings → System → Notifications & Actions → "Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows"....toggle this selection to 'off'.
