Where is the spell check on Outlook.com

Since Hotmail.com is now Outlook.com, can anyone please tell me where the spell check is?

Spell check can be accessed from the top navigation bar on Outlook. After you click "Spell check," all misspelled words in your message body will be underlined in red. You can then left-click the word to get a pop-up list of corrections.

I noticed that in Firefox, the Spell check feature is absent from the top navigation bar. This Microsoft Community post seems to corroborate that experience, explaining that browsers that have built-in Spell check will not display this feature in Outlook.

Outlook.com has a Manual Spell check button on the top next to Options.

It does not appear unless you are writing an email.

Note that the Spell Checker does not work in Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and possibly other browsers that do themselves check the spelling of text you type.

As I type this answer on webapps.stackexchange.com, Firefox is providing the spell checking.
It depends on the website. I suspect that any site that uses standard textarea tags will allow Firefox to spell-check it. Google Docs, on the other hand, uses its own custom spell checker.
Right-click a misspelled word. Select "Languages" and make sure "English / United States" is selected. If you don't see it there, select "Add Dictionaries..." and install the "English (US)" dictionary.

Outlook.com with IMAP or Exchange

Update 2013-09-13: Outlook.com have announced they now support IMAP. The settings are:

Incoming (IMAP) Server
    Server address: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Port: 993
    Encrypted Connection: SSL

Outgoing (SMTP) Server
    Server address: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    Port: 25 (or 587 if 25 is blocked)
    Authentication: Yes
    Encrypted Connection: TLS

User name: Your email address
Password: Your password

For Outlook 2013, Exchange ActiveSync support is built in. Just enter the email address and password and it should configure automatically. For Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007, and Outlook 2003, you still need to use the free Outlook Hotmail Connector add-in.

If you are after server details, this article suggests: m.hotmail.com or m.outlook.com - I've also seen snt-m.hotmail.com suggested.

And failing all else, there is POP:

Use of POP/SMTP is discouraged for @outlook.com addresses, but it will work if you set the servers to pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com, respectively. Note that you must sign in to the SMTP server to send mail.
