I've given a few invited talks that I have up on SlideShare and Youtube that I'd love to showcase on LinkedIn. However, there doesn't seem to be a good place to put these sorts of things. The closest I can see is "publications", but this isn't a publication; it's a presentation. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a "right" way to do this that would make the most sense to the person viewing the profile page?

LinkedIn announced that they shut down the GitHub application, as of 26 November 2012. Now, LinkedIn only offers this, for sharing from Github:
You still have the option to share your code from GitHub on LinkedIn by sharing links on your homepage or in groups.
In other words, you can share links from Github the same way that you share links from anywhere else online. That is just the same old, manual feature as in the past.
The LinkedIn Network Statistics Link will give you an estimate of your first, second and third degree connections laid out like so:
LinkedIn no longer officially supports network statistics, and according to this article the statistics themselves were never accurate, per se (evidence includes network sizes precipitously dropping, and second and third degree connections decreasing with the addition of first degree connections).

If you enter an asterisk into the search bar which will give you the number of results through which you are searching in your network.
This will also return your number of second degree connections, displayed further down the left-hand navigation bar:

There's no way to add them now but you can still use the Projects or the Publications sections to do it. Many have requested this since years ago (1, 2, 3), including me, but sadly LinkedIn is just ignoring this lacking feature.
