YouTube offline videos captions not seen on playback

I have saved a YouTube video of 1.5 hrs after verifying that it has captions(Offline videos).

However when I play the offline video with the captions on, it still doesn't show any captions.

Please help to get the captions. Hope the offline saved video doesn't need to go waste. Please suggest any alternatives.

I tried going to my YouTube settings, then to captions and changed the captions style. After that I opened the video I downloaded offline and it worked: it showed the subtitles again. Maybe that trick would work for you too next time you have that problem again.

From what I've learnt finally, there's no way to do it. But that's really unfortunate.

EDIT: Although not what I really hoped for, VLC media player actually allows you to view YouTube videos in their original resolution.

Open VLC
Go to Media (menu) → Open Network Stream... → paste the YouTube video URL in field under the label Please enter a network URL: and hit Play.
When the video has loaded, play the video, right-click on the video, under Video (menu item) → select Fullscreen option; then right-click again, and under the same menu item (i.e. Video) deselect Always Fit Window option.
The video should now be playing in its original resolution.

YouTube Video Stopped Working

From checking the uploader of the video's channel on YouTube, it appears that the video in question has been removed by the uploader.

The relevant error message for this video is as follows:

ERROR: content too short (expected 15287800 bytes and served 1323)

...in other words the expected size of this video is 14.58MB, but only 1323 bytes was served from the server.
