YouTube: title & description translated – but ignored in search result display

localizationseoyoutube

I have translated the title & description of my YouTube video into several languages, incl. Spanish.

Now, when I set my browser locale to Spanish (using an extension), and visit the video directly in Incognito/Private mode, I can see the Spanish translation – all good.

But when I search for the video, it does appear in the search results (at position 7), but the original (English) title and description is used:

Why? Is there a way to make the Spanish title appear?

Maybe you are doing wrong your test. To do this "correctly", try the following:

  1. Open your browser in private / safe / incognito mode
  2. Go to https://youtube.com
  3. Click the Settings button (top arrow on the below image)
  4. Select Spanish in the Language submenu (bottom arrow on the below image)
  5. Search for you video
