Jquery – Getting ID of all elements of a certain class into an array

Here's what I'm trying to do:

Currently I am using this to create an array of all elements matching the class name of .cookie. Right now I am getting the text value of that element, which is not what I need:

var getAllCookies = $('.cookie').text();
var cookiesArray = jQuery.makeArray(getAllCookies);
alert(cookiesArray[0]);

What I need is to find all elements of a certain class (.cookie), get that element's ID value and store that ID value inside of array.

I think this should do what you're after:

var ids = $('.cookie').map(function(index) {
    // this callback function will be called once for each matching element
    return this.id; 
});

[jQuery.val] checks, or selects, all the radio buttons, checkboxes, and select options that match the set of values.

This behavior is in jQuery versions 1.2 and above.

You most likely want this:

$("._statusDDL").val('2');

You want the splice function on the native array object.

arr.splice(index, 0, item); will insert item into arr at the specified index (deleting 0 items first, that is, it's just an insert).

In this example we will create an array and add an element to it into index 2:

var arr = [];
arr[0] = "Jani";
arr[1] = "Hege";
arr[2] = "Stale";
arr[3] = "Kai Jim";
arr[4] = "Borge";

console.log(arr.join()); // Jani,Hege,Stale,Kai Jim,Borge
arr.splice(2, 0, "Lene");
console.log(arr.join()); // Jani,Hege,Lene,Stale,Kai Jim,Borge
