I would like to know who are my most active Facebook friends, over time. That is, who among my friends submitted the most stuff (statuses, links, images, etc.) during some significant period of time (say, 3 months).

No, unfortunately not. If the group is public, posts will be pushed to your activity. In addition, since they are in the same group, privacy settings don't really apply, as they are allowed to read any message within the group.

There are a few applications out there to track the time you spend on sites, two that do what you are after:
RescueTime - Will track everything you do, so you can get an idea of what you spend your time on (including Facebook). The tracking is free, but you can pay for premium which lets you block sites. It will work on your phone as well as the computer.
TimeRabbit - An app that will sit in the background and just monitors how much time you spend on Facebook
